Green Brier Trail

on the Green River, West Virginia

Green Brier Trail traverses the Green river in West Virginia. For more detail visit this web site here.
The portion of the trail that I travelled was easily managed with a hybrid mountain bike but in portions it was bit rougher than I am used to. The trip itself had more wildlife than expected (a small black bear on the trail). I was able to traverse about 40 miles without any problem in 4-5 hours with stops.

John`s Recollections
This portion of the trail displayed the river at its widest point with much of it`s length rather slow moving. After spending the night tenting in the park it was made for an early morning ride with little effort required to move slowly along the path.

John`s Recollections
Most of the pictures here are in the general area of the state park. One picture in the State park shows the road paths within the park itself while others across on the bike trail indicate that the river bed is narrower and the waters are beginning to increase in speed.

John`s Recollections
Close by the river at all times, but the bikeway at times has a very tunnel effect that is caused by the trees overhanging the bikeway.
