Major League Baseball Trip (2004)
Western US States - Revisited
Game 2, Inn 7

We created our plan and it worked well! The trip included:
- meeting in Detroit from separate points of embarkation (Florida & Ontario),
- more than a full month away,
- 25 States, 1 Province, 19,187 KM (11,922 miles),
- one plane trip & one bus trip,
- video and stills galore,

- AND of course, our reason for the trip - completing our dream of attending a home game for each major league team.

We attended games at replacement parks in Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego and Houston, but the best part was seeing home team (#30) play in Phoenix.
Phoenix had a terrible year but the club rewarded their fans with ½ price food and merchandise for the last home-stand. A nice touch!
The season was winding down and we had the excitement of great NL West wildcard and division races and even saw some records set.

Once again, we can say “Mission Accomplished”, but just like the sign on the aircraft carrier, it was not quite true. The news headline read “Montreal Expos Move to Washington”. Our journey must now include the relocated team and it sounds like a replacement stadium is already on the table. At the end of the trip we really felt like two recycled teenagers, but will be planning the next trip.

Baseball ROCKS!

Extensive planning required for this trip as it included not only baseball stadiums but the desire to see as much as possible of the Western US States.
